Privacy Policy
This policy explains how mogumogu.ai collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the meal planning app.
Information we collect
Planning meals needs an account. When you create one, we collect your email address, password credentials, and optional public nickname. Browsing public recipes and the blog needs no account and stores nothing about you.
We store the meal planning details you provide, including household size, budget and effort preferences, meal schedule, dietary preferences, dislikes, allergens, saved recipes, recipe reviews, saved places, generated meal plans, anything you attach to a planned meal — extra dishes, the ingredients you type for them, and your own tags — and the list of ingredients you say are in your fridge.
If you host a potluck, we store its details: the occasion, date, time, place, a note for guests, and how many of each dish you ask for. Anyone who replies to it, with or without an account, gives a name, whether they are coming and with how many people, and may add a diet, allergies, and a note for the host. The dishes each person says they will bring are stored too.
If you choose restaurant or takeout planning, we may store the location label and coordinates you provide, search radius settings, cuisine preferences, and saved or blocked places. If you upload recipe images, we store the images and generated thumbnails.
When you open a page, our web server logs which page it was, the site that linked you to it, and your browser type, but not your IP address. It keeps that log for 30 days, to count where visitors come from, and sets no cookie for it.
How we use information
We use your information to create meal plans, grocery lists, recipe recommendations, restaurant suggestions, shared household workspaces, account access, and app support or moderation.
Public recipe and review activity may show your nickname. Your email address is not shown as public recipe or review attribution.
Admins may review account, recipe, and usage details needed to operate the service, moderate public recipes, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
Integrations and third parties
If you sign in with Google, we use Google OAuth to authenticate your account. If you connect Google Calendar, we request read-only calendar access so mogumogu.ai can consider busy times when planning meals.
Restaurant search and map-related features may use Google Places or Maps data. reCAPTCHA may be used to protect signup, login, planning, or potluck replies from abuse.
Some features use AI services: Google's Gemini API, and Groq as a backup when Gemini is unavailable. They write plan summaries and recipe suggestions from your preferences; if you photograph your fridge or pantry, they list the ingredients in the photos; and if you photograph a recipe, they read it into the recipe form for you to check. Photos are downscaled and stripped of location data before they are sent, and mogumogu.ai does not store them, unless you keep a photo of a handwritten recipe card with the recipe you save; a photo of a printed page or a screenshot is never kept. These providers handle what they receive under their own terms, which may include using it to improve their services.
We may use infrastructure providers for hosting, databases, object storage, logging, and delivery of the app. These providers process data only as needed to run mogumogu.ai.
Local storage
The app stores your login token, the last opened plan id, and the selected household id in browser storage so you can stay signed in and return to your work.
Your detailed profile, preferences, location settings, plans, recipes, and household data are fetched from the server rather than stored directly in local browser storage.
If you reply to a potluck without an account, the browser keeps a key to that reply so you can change or withdraw it later. It works for that one reply only, and signing out does not remove it.
Sharing and visibility
Your plans, preferences, and grocery lists live in a household, which starts with just you. Anyone you invite to it can see them, along with its membership details.
Recipes you add are shared with everyone in your households by default. Mark a recipe private to keep it to yourself; a private recipe is never used in a plan.
A potluck is shared by its link rather than by a household. Anyone with the link can see the event, the name and reply of everyone who answered, and what each person is bringing. A guest's diet, allergies, and note are shown only to the hosting household and to that guest; everyone else sees only how many people need each. The host can make a new link at any time, which stops the old one working.
A potluck goes on the hosting household's meal plan, with what that household is bringing. If you reply while signed in, you can put it on your own household's plan too: everyone in that household then sees its name, time, place and link, and the dishes you said you would bring. Nobody else's plan ever shows your reply.
Recipes you mark public may be reviewed for moderation and, if approved, made available to other users with your nickname as author attribution.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your choices
You can use the app without creating an account, update your nickname, disconnect optional integrations, remove saved places, and choose whether each recipe is private, shared with your households, or public where those controls are available.
You can sign out to clear account credentials from the browser. You can also clear your browser storage to remove locally stored session and navigation tokens.
To request access, correction, export, or deletion of account data, contact the app operator at privacy@mogumogu.ai.
Security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect account credentials, tokens, and app data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
A potluck, with every reply and dish on it, is kept until its host deletes it. A guest can withdraw their own reply at any time, which deletes everything they told it.
We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain backups or operational records.
Changes
We may update this policy as mogumogu.ai changes. The date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last updated.
